Data Annotator (Coder)

DataAnnotation.tech
2024 - Present

DataAnnotation is a company that trains Large Language Models (LLMs) through freelance annotators for clients.

In this role, I conducted data annotation by comparing model responses to various prompts, primarily related to coding across multiple programming languages, as well as text and image-based prompts. I do this largely out of term time however, I am planning on increasing the amount I work on it.

Projects

Medical Image Segmentation Tool (MIST)

This was a group project for the University for which I was project manager. The tool is designed for clinicians who can use it to track tumour growth and easily identify organs in medical images. It was developed in C++ based on a previous tool, written in MATLAB.

Verilog to Minecraft Redstone

This is a Python program which converts Verilog to Minecraft Redstone circuits, winning the "Hackiest Hack" prize in HackNotts 2024, a yearly Hackathon.

Volunteering

Sign Language Outreach

During university, I joined the Sign Language Society and took part in community outreach events to introduce BSL (British Sign Language) and its importance to children in the community.

Coding Competitions

One of my hobbies is doing competitive coding problems, including competing in competitions. I have participated in the UKIEPC three times (2021, 2022, 2023), codeforces contests nine times as well as competitions within the University.

These competitions have helped hone my programming skills, particularly by practicing problems on platforms such as codeforces, CSES and Kattis where I've mastered various data structures. Most recently I have focused on how to efficient Segment Tree implementation through problems in the CSES problemset.

Additionally, I founded a competitive programming Discord server for our university, which has attracted over 80 members. This community allows me to collaborate with like-minded individuals and learn from those with advanced skills in the field.
